Expenses and financial aid
Trip prices are usually all-inclusive (based on double hotel-room occupancy), except for lunch, dinner, and incidentals. Travel expenses are in addition to tuition.
However, Rutgers students pay "full tuition" for twelve credits and do not incur additional tuition for heavier course schedules. Many undergraduates enroll in an International Studies course as a fifth or even a sixth course--paying, in effect, no additional tuition for the course.
Travel costs are construed as educational expenses, so student loans are readily available. Once students are formally enrolled they may apply for assistance through the Office of Financial Aid. For this purpose itemized expenses are posted on our main page in December. Click on News and Updates.
Finally, the program awards mini-grants of a few hundred dollars to a number of students who are enrolled for credit. Also, the dean's office in Arts and Sciences now funds the Stainrook grants, available to CCAS and UC students who entered Rutgers as first-year students in or after Fall 2006 and maintain a certain GPA.
