Promoting our study tours
Every Fall the program organizes a "fair" during which students can get general information about the current year's study tours and speak directly with instructors and tour leaders. The event usually takes place in the main lobby of the Campus Center and is scheduled a week in advance of pre-registration for the Spring, coinciding with a luncheon on Study Abroad for Honors College students. Typically each leader establishes a station featuring handouts, photos, and a welcoming demeanor.
The program publicizes the fair with a flyer and an attractive poster, and information on tours and course offerings for the Spring is made available through REACT, the RAMS mailing system, and the campus Webpage.
Notwithstanding these centralized efforts, our study tours build enrollment most effectively by means of the departmental grapevines: notice boards, word of mouth, announcements in class. Instructors interested in developing individual posters should contact the director about reimbursement for copying expenses.
